Author Rights and Open Access Policy
AUCPS Author Rights and Open Access Policy
Introduction
- The Accord University Cross Disciplinary and Pure Sciences (AUCPS) Journal is committed to upholding the highest standards of open-access publishing while ensuring that authors retain their rights over their research. This document aligns with international research publishing standards, including COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), and OASPA (Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association), ensuring transparency, accessibility, and integrity.
Author Rights
Authors submitting their manuscripts to AUCPS retain significant rights over their work. These rights include:
- Copyright Ownership: Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant AUCPS a non-exclusive license to publish and distribute the article.
- Attribution Rights: Authors will always be credited for their work in any form of reproduction or distribution.
- Right to Share: Authors are permitted to share their accepted manuscript on personal websites, institutional repositories, and scholarly networks with proper attribution in compliance with SHERPA/RoMEO guidelines.
- Commercial Use: Authors may seek independent commercial opportunities for their research outside the journal’s distribution, ensuring ethical considerations.
- Modifications and Extensions: Authors can modify, update, or extend their research findings in future works while citing the original publication.
Open Access Policy
- AUCPS adheres to global best practices in open-access publishing:
- Immediate and Unrestricted Access: All published articles are freely available online immediately upon acceptance and final formatting.
- No Subscription Fees: Readers can access journal content without any paywall or subscription.
- Archiving and Indexing: Articles will be archived in institutional repositories, research databases, and international indexing platforms such as Scopus, Web of Science, DOAJ, and CrossRef to ensure long-term accessibility.
- Author Fees and Waivers: To sustain open-access publication, AUCPS may charge an Article Processing Charge (APC). However, waivers and discounts are available for authors from developing countries or under special circumstances, following the World Bank classification.
Ethical Considerations
AUCPS follows COPE’s guidelines for ethical publishing:
- Plagiarism and Misconduct: Authors must ensure originality in their work, properly cite sources, and avoid self-plagiarism. Manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate).
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that might influence their research.
- Data Transparency: Authors are encouraged to provide supplementary data and research materials to enhance reproducibility.
- Ethical Research Standards: Research involving human or animal subjects must comply with international ethical standards, such as the Declaration of Helsinki and Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals.
Copyright and Reuse Policy
- AUCPS retains the right to publish and distribute the work but does not claim ownership.
- Third parties must attribute the work to the original authors and journal when redistributing or adapting the content.
- Authors may reuse their own work for future publications, books, or conference proceedings, provided that AUCPS is cited as the original publisher.
